Something we at SKH always look forward to is when the graduation films by our bachelor’s and master’s students reach a wide audience through SVT Play. Now it is time for those who received their degrees in 2025 to have their short films featured there – 13 in total.

Tinna Joné, Head of subject for Film and Media, says that part of the education involves engaging with and connecting to an audience. That is why the collaboration with SVT is so important.

– Our bachelor’s and master’s programmes are collaborative, co-creative and team-based, and through documentary storytelling and fiction, students develop their artistic abilities through collaboration across sound, cinematography, production design, editing, production, directing and screenwriting. Our long-standing collaboration with SVT is important for both the university and the students. We contribute new voices, the next generation of storytellers who – with courage and a spirit of experimentation and free from commercial pressures – can give audiences access to culture that might otherwise be hard to find. New storytellers and fresh perspectives break old patterns, which revitalises the medium of film and drives its development forward. This can offer viewers new experiences and deepen their understanding of how other people live and think.
