Un Vague Souvenir
Gustaf Alexander Öhrn, MA The Art of Impact
A voice not heard in over twelve years brings out memories long forgotten. Beneath this specific footage of a summer house in Burgundy, lays a reflection on what we choose to remember.
Un Vague Souvenir (A Faint Memory) is a short film in which Alexander Öhrn enters into dialogue with found footage shot by his late father. The landscape of Burgundy becomes a place of memory: a happy family life that quietly came to an end. Beneath the warmth of this footage, a voice not heard in over twelve years brings out memories long forgotten and triggers a meditation on what we choose to remember, what we allow ourselves to feel, and the stories we tell ourselves.
