Exchange studies in Choreography

Courses offered

SKH offers you to follow the curriculum of the Master's Programme in Choreography (year 1, semester 2). Find more information about the structure and content of the programme here.

By following the links, you can read the syllabuses for the courses included in the spring semester of 2027:

  • Choreography: Media and Agency Expanding the Choreographic, 22.5 ECTS (year 1, semester 2)
  • Methods in artistic research 2, 7.5 ECTS (year 1, semester 2)

Course content

  • Expanded choreographic processes and objects
  • Dancing as thinking
  • Experimenting different choreographic forms i.e, publishing, film and other objects
  • Artistic research prepatory
  • Dense rhythm of study that is responsive to student initiative
  • Independent studio work supported by space resourses
  • Experimenting ways of being together as choreographic
  • Individual student art processes at center of study

Application

The application period is 15 March to 15 April 2025.

  1. Ask your coordinator to nominate you for exchange studies at SKH by sending an email to exchanges@uniarts.se.
  2. You submit your application via the online application system Varbi. Please note that we only accept applications via Varbi and that we will not consider any applications from students sent by e-mail or regular post.

Upload the following documents (in English) for your application:

  • Registration certificate from your home university
  • Transcript of records of your programme courses at your home university completed so far
  • A certificate of Degree of Bachelor in Fine Arts or equivalent higher education qualification
  • Language certificate showing your language in English
  • Letter of motivation (instruction below)
  • Work sample (instruction below)
  • Text elucidating your art practice (instruction below)

Describe why you are applying for exchange studies in Choreography at SKH and what your expectations are.

Instructions for the Work sample

  • Upload a work sample in the form of video clip. The admission group will initially view approximately 10 minutes of your submission. If the video samples are long, indicate where the viewing should begin. Please use MP4 (maximum 150 MB/file).
  • Upload a separate file in which you describe when the work was made, and what precisely your role was in creating it (maximum one page).

Instructions for the Text elucidating your art practice

Upload a text elucidating your art practice where you may address one or more of the following questions (maximum one page):

  • What is your working understanding of ‘choreography'?
  • Can you mention a few people, things or phenomena that you relate to in your artistic practice and why?
  • What do you think dance and/or choreography ‘does’ in the world?
