NAVET Student Festival 2026: Dream ex Machina
This year’s theme for Navet Student Festival is Dream Ex Machina. Here, art, design, technology and research come together in works that explore our relationships with machines, each other and the world around us.
Two of the featured projects are from SKH
Step by Step
By BA circus students Xélia Froidevaux and Elodie Mirza
What’s the importance of human connection in an era filled with new technologies?
Welcome to the dome, where two circus artists will take you into their space. Searching for calm in the overwhelming rise of new technologies, they will find each other. Through the use of a 360 camera you will discover a new way of watching circus. Expect weightlessness and free-falling…
Xélia Froidevaux and Elodie Mirza (SKH)
We are Xélia and Elodie, both from Switzerland. We started circus young and started individually our professional journey in ECL in Lausanne. We then met in Stockholm at the Bachelor's programme in Circus at SKH. It clicked right away between us, and here we are presenting to you our first duo trapeze project.
All Movements Are Welcome
By MA New performative practices student Chang LIU and Jiayi Wu studying at KTH
All Movements Are Welcome is an interactive installation that invites participants to move freely within a monitored space. Through real-time body tracking, AI analysis, text generation, and voice feedback, the system continuously interprets each movement and generates reasons why it might be restricted or prohibited.
Rather than imagining technology as a tool for efficiency or optimization, the work examines how bodies are read, categorized, and governed through political, social, ethical, behavioral, and security-related frameworks. By making these invisible processes visible, the installation asks how freedom, surveillance, and participation are negotiated in an increasingly algorithmic society.
LEO (刘畅 / LIU Chang) (SKH) & Jiayi Wu (KTH)
LEO (刘畅 / LIU Chang) is a Chinese artist, performer, and researcher studying at MA New Performative Practices at SKH. Working through Performative Documentality, LEO explores how bodies become documents through movement, memory, language, and technology. Their interdisciplinary practice spans performance, choreography, installation, moving image, and participatory art, often bringing queer Sinic perspectives into dialogue with contemporary technologies.
Jiayi Wu is a geospatial engineer and technology researcher currently pursuing a Master's degree in Transport and Geoinformation Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His practice bridges spatial computing, GeoAI, and product development, exploring how data-driven systems shape perception, decision-making, and interactions between humans, technology, and the built environment.
